We Need Your Help!

The boarders at Miramar Stables received notice from the Marine base commanding officer that our stables is slated for closure on 01 July 2008. This is happening even while some of our active-duty military boarders are deployed overseas fighting for our freedom and others are preparing to deploy.

All of the reasons provided for this action can be addressed by our Save Our Stables Committee - if only given the chance.

We need your help to keep this historic facility open! The only way to take us from a business losing money to a profitable one is to become a self-sustaining facility or a non-profit co-operative just as MCB Quantico, VA and MCB Camp Lejeune, NC have done. Either of these options would work and would take us out from under the Marine Corps MCCS (which has mismanaged the facility and would rather see an RV parking lot in its place!).

Help us Save Our Stables for future generations to come!

Please contact any/or all of the representatives below and express your support. A simple email or letter would make a world of difference!

Our DEADLINE is Fast Approaching!

We would like to thank all those who have written letters!! It has helped! Our proposal is being considered by the Commanding General at Camp Pendleton. If you haven't already done so, please consider sending MajGen Lehnert a letter asking him to save this facility. We need more wholesome, healthy activities for our military families - not less! We are asking for the right to become a cooperative and pay our own way, like many other military horse boarding facilities have been allowed to do.

Thank you for your time and consideration! Help us save our horses' homes!

MIRAMAR STABLES celebrates its 50th year anniversary this June 2008! We are a military family horse boarding facility with a very rich history. Our site dates back to the early 1900s when it was U.S. Army Camp Kearny and they trained cavalry units used during World War I.

Despite all our years of benefit to our military members, thier families and our community we are being closed down due to mismanagement. We encourage you to contact those representatives and military members listed here to express your support. We don't need another parking lot. Thank you for your time!
